V6 Shift vs V5 Pack Specs
Magnification Power
Edge: Bushnell Tour V6 Shift 6x Magnification
The Bushnell Tour V6 Shift 6x provides 6x magnification for clearer target acquisition at distance. This higher power helps you see the flag stick more distinctly against complex backgrounds. The V5 Patriot Pack does not list a specific magnification factor in its published specifications. You will need to check the manual or product page for the exact optical power of the V5 model. If the V5 offers lower magnification, the V6 Shift gives you an advantage in visual clarity for long-range shots.
Maximum Range
Edge: Bushnell Tour V6 Shift 6x Magnification
The Tour V6 Shift 6x is rated for a maximum range of 1300 yards. This specification ensures reliable distance readings even on large courses or when targets are far away. The V5 Patriot Pack does not state a maximum yardage limit in the provided data. Without this number, it is unclear if the V5 matches the 1300-yard capability of the V6. If the V5 has a shorter range, the V6 Shift is the better choice for open layouts or long par-5s where distance accuracy matters.
Physical Dimensions
Edge: Bushnell V5 Patriot Pack
The Tour V6 Shift 6x measures 6 inches in length, 5 inches in width, and 4.5 inches in height. These dimensions suggest a larger, more substantial body that may feel secure in your hand. The V5 Patriot Pack is listed as 4.5 inches long, 1.5 inches wide, and 3 inches high. The V5 is significantly more compact and lighter, making it easier to carry in a pocket or tight bag space. If you prefer a smaller footprint, the V5 is the practical option.
Water Resistance
Edge: Bushnell Tour V6 Shift 6x Magnification
The Tour V6 Shift 6x is explicitly described as waterproof in its key specifications. This feature protects the internal optics and electronics from rain, dew, or accidental submersion during play. The V5 Patriot Pack does not mention water resistance or waterproofing in the provided data. Without this confirmation, you cannot be certain how the V5 handles wet conditions. If you often play in damp weather, the V6 Shift offers a clear advantage in durability and protection against moisture.
Weight
Edge: Bushnell Tour V6 Shift 6x Magnification
The Tour V6 Shift 6x weighs 8.5 ounces. This weight provides a solid feel but may add noticeable bulk to your golf bag over an 18-hole round. The V5 Patriot Pack is listed as weighing 1 pound, which equals 16 ounces. This is nearly double the weight of the V6 Shift. The V6 is significantly lighter, reducing fatigue in your hand and making it easier to carry. If weight is a priority for your game, the V6 Shift is the superior choice.
Pin Lock Feedback
Edge: Tie
Both rangefinders utilize Visual JOLT technology to confirm when the laser has locked onto the flag. The Tour V6 Shift 6x uses a flashing red ring and vibration to alert you. The V5 Patriot Pack also uses vibrating pulses and a flashing red ring for the same purpose. The feedback mechanisms are identical in function and description. Neither device has an edge over the other in this category, as both provide visual and tactile confirmation for accurate targeting.
Which Bushnell Rangefinder Suits You
Golfers needing precise long-distance target locking
Our pick: Bushnell Tour V6 Shift 6x Magnification
The Tour V6 Shift offers 6x magnification and a 1300-yard range. This combination helps you clearly identify flags from far away.
